Artist Talk: Steber • Phillips • Howse
June 30 | 1:00 PM | Meridian Museum of Art
Join us for an engaging afternoon with exhibiting artists Bill Steber and Gary Howse as they discuss their creative practices, inspirations, and the stories behind the works featured in the exhibition.
Photographer Bill Steber will share insights from his acclaimed project Stones in My Pathway, a decades-long exploration of Mississippi blues culture that documents the people, places, and traditions of the Delta through photography and historic processes.
Mixed media artist Gary Howse will explore the themes of memory, faith, and rural Mississippi life that shape his narrative paintings and drawings across a variety of media.
While Stephen Phillips is unable to join us on June 30, visitors can still experience his striking ceramic works in the exhibition. We look forward to welcoming him for a future program and encourage guests to stay tuned for details.
This free artist talk offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from the artists, learn more about their work, and gain deeper insight into the exhibition. Questions and conversation are encouraged.
