Exhibit: 37th Annual Bi-State Art Competition – The oldest juried art competition in the region, featuring the finest artists in Mississippi and Alabama competing for over $3,000 in prizes.  (Awards reception: 6-8 p.m., Saturday, May 1)

April 3, 2010

Three Foot Art Festival  Fundraising event featuring blistering mouth-watering barbecue, soda and other liquid refreshments, special art booths, and a wealth of children’s activities – face painting, hands-on art, a children’s art show/competition,  storytelling!  A special art exhibit by local school students held at the Museum with awards announced at noon.

Exhibit: 2010 People’s Choice Art Competition – Annual competition giving Museum visitors the chance to vote for award winners in various media categories and Best in Show.

Exhibit: Lowery Wilson, Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi, and Charles Crossley “Art is a Love Affair” Exhibit:  Contemporary Photographs, exquisite hand-made crafts and furniture, and African/American Artist shares his love for art through an exhibition and artist’s talk

5-7 p.m   Black History Month Program using personal reminiscences, photographs, artwork, film clips, readings, and live musical performances to remember the vital role of African-American individuals throughout history, include slavery, Reconstruction, and the Civil Rights Movement.  Co-sponsored by the Delta Nu Zeta Chapter Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
