Museum special events include:
ART AUCTION (November) Spectacular event featuring a gala dinner, live entertainment, and a chance to bid on artwork by the finest artists in the region.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH PROGRAM (February) Powerful program that brings to life the people, places, and events of African-American history through performances, storytelling, period music, film, and original artwork.
BLUES AND BARBECUE (April) Fundraising festival featuring blistering live blues, dancing, a radio remote, mouth-watering barbecue, refreshments, and a wealth of children’s activities – face painting, hands-on art, a children’s art show, storytelling, videos, and the Youth BBQ Olympics!
MARTINIS AT THE MUSEUM (June) Membership drive event that features traditional and specialty martinis, a “Great Tastes of Meridian” buffet, door prizes, a silent auction, and a demonstration by a special guest artist.
MEMBERSHIP GALA (December) Special event that includes the reception for the Members Show, a thank-you to MMA supporters, and a celebration of the Museum’s history.
A MUSEUM MURDER MYSTERY (August) A festive evening is interrupted by murder most foul! A special, elegant fundraiser that combines a gala dinner, a staged performance, and an interactive murder mystery.
PATRON’S PARTY (May) Gala for Museum members at the Patron level or above, held at one of the finest homes in Meridian, featuring fine food, great music, and outstanding artwork by a special guest artist.
